Vinhomes Golden River is a 25.3-hectare development at 2 Tôn Đức Thắng in District 1, built on the site of the old Ba Son shipyard along the Saigon River. It has two groups of apartment towers, Aqua and Lux, a street of 63 riverside villas, and Metro Line 1’s Ba Son station on the doorstep.

People working in District 1 who want to walk or take one metro stop to the office, and families who want a riverside home a short drive from downtown schools and the Children’s Hospital 2.

Inside Vinhomes Golden River

• Aqua 1 to Aqua 4: Four apartment towers; Aqua 1 and Aqua 2, the tallest, have 51 floors.
• Lux 1 to Lux 6: Six apartment towers, the larger of the two groups.
• The Victoria: 63 riverside villas of three and four floors.

Schools, health and shopping

• Transport: Ba Son metro station, underground on the old shipyard site beside Ba Son Bridge, has entrances into the Ba Son area where the towers stand.
• Parks and water: The development faces the Saigon River, and the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens are within a kilometre of Ba Son station.
• Healthcare: Children’s Hospital 2 is within a kilometre of Ba Son station, and Vinmec Central Park International Hospital, with a 24-hour emergency service, is up the river in Bình Thạnh.
• Shopping: Downtown’s shops are close by: the developer puts Bến Thành Market, City Hall and the Independence Palace two to three minutes’ drive away.

Getting there

• By road, about 3 km to Bến Thành Market (5 to 10 minutes) and 9 km to Tân Sơn Nhất Airport (10 to 15 minutes), with no traffic.
• Metro Line 1, open since 22 December 2024, stops at Ba Son and runs underground to the Opera House and Bến Thành in two stops, and the other way to Văn Thánh Park, Tân Cảng and Thảo Điền.
• Ba Son Bridge, a six-lane cable-stayed bridge opened on 28 April 2022, starts beside the development and crosses the river to Thủ Thiêm and District 2.
• Tôn Đức Thắng runs south along the river to downtown, and Nguyễn Hữu Cảnh runs north to Bình Thạnh.

Good to know

• Grand Marina Saigon, next door on the same old shipyard site, is a separate development by Masterise Homes, so a listing that says only ‘Ba Son’ may mean either.
• The Ba Son shipyard dates back to the 1780s and closed in 2015. Other parts of the old shipyard site are still being built on.
