• Supermarkets: Annam Gourmet, which stocks imported groceries, opened a store in the Q2 building at 21 Võ Trường Toản in 2021.
• Healthcare: Family Medical Practice's District 2 centre at 95 Thảo Điền is open 24 hours, every day. American International Hospital (199 Nguyễn Hoàng) has a 24-hour emergency service, and Victoria Healthcare has a clinic at 37-39 Lương Định Của.
• International schools: British International School (early years at 101 Thảo Điền, juniors at 225 and seniors at 246 Nguyễn Văn Hưởng); ISHCMC, an IB school from Early Explorers to Grade 12, at 28 Võ Trường Toản; Australian International School at 36 Thảo Điền; Deutsche Schule at 12 Võ Trường Toản; EIS at 730 Lê Văn Miến; and The American School at 6 Song Hành, An Phú.

Getting around

• Metro Line 1 has elevated stations at Thảo Điền and An Phú, a few stops from the Opera House and Bến Thành stations downtown.
• Ba Son Bridge, the Thủ Thiêm Bridge and the Saigon River tunnel all cross to District 1.

• Traffic in Thảo Điền is heavy at school times: the international schools are close together and most families drive, so check the school run before you choose a street.
