District 9 is on the city's eastern edge, bordering Đồng Nai province. For renters it is best known for Vinhomes Grand Park, a 271-hectare development built around a 36-hectare park, with its own mall, night market, pools and sports grounds.

• International schools: The French international school, Lycée Français International Marguerite Duras, is on Route 11 in Long Bình.

Getting around

• Metro Line 1 runs from Bến Thành downtown through High Tech Park and National University stations to its terminus at Suối Tiên, in front of the New Eastern Bus Terminus.
