Living in Ecopark
Ecopark is a township of about 500 hectares in Văn Giang, Hưng Yên province, on the east bank of the Red River south-east of central Hanoi. It mixes apartment towers, villa and townhouse streets, lakes and large parks, and has welcomed residents since 2012. It is known for its greenery and for the main campus of British University Vietnam.
Families who want lakes, parks and room for children to play, and students and staff at British University Vietnam, who are prepared to commute into Hanoi in return.
Inside Ecopark
- Rừng Cọ: An apartment zone; the EcoPM management office is in its C1 tower.
- Aqua Bay: Apartment towers along the central lake.
- West Bay: A group of apartment towers.
- Solforest: Two 41-storey ‘vertical forest’ towers with more than 400 tropical gardens.
- Swanlake Residences: Apartments built around a hot-spring complex of 14 hot and cold mineral pools covering 2,400 square metres.
- Vườn Mai and Vườn Tùng: Villa areas; their residents use the township’s clubhouses for services such as Ecobus cards.

Schools, health and shopping
- Schools: British University Vietnam moved to its 6.5-hectare Ecopark campus in 2018. The developer also lists Creative Kindlecare kindergarten, Đoàn Thị Điểm Greenfield School, Edison School and Đại học Y khoa Tokyo Việt Nam inside the township.
- Parks and water: Swan Lake Park (Công viên Hồ Thiên Nga) and the Spring, Summer and Autumn parks are open to residents and visitors, and more than a fifth of the township is water and greenery.
- Sport: Els Performance Golf Academy, open since 2018, is Vietnam’s national golf training centre.
- Shopping: Phố Trúc and Phố Cúc, streets of shophouses, are the township’s main trading streets.
- Transport: Ecobus, run by the township’s management company, links Ecopark with stops across central Hanoi, and its app EcoOne shows where each bus is.
Getting there
- By road, about 16 km to Hoàn Kiếm Lake (15 to 20 minutes) and 38 km to Nội Bài Airport (35 to 40 minutes), with no traffic.
- Provincial road 379 runs through Ecopark and links it with Hanoi’s Ring Road 3; the Red River dike road (provincial road 378) also passes through the township.
- Ecobus runs between Ecopark and pick-up points in Hoàn Kiếm, Ba Đình, Đống Đa, Thanh Xuân, Tây Hồ and Hà Đông, as well as loops inside the township.
- Ring Road 3.5, with a new Red River crossing at Ngọc Hồi Bridge from Thanh Trì, is under construction and will pass Ecopark.
Good to know
- Since 1 May 2019 Ecobus has carried only Ecopark residents and people who work in the township, who swipe a card as they board; on weekends and public holidays it is free for all visitors.
- Residents of apartment towers register for an Ecobus card at their building’s reception, and villa residents at their area’s clubhouse; each home gets up to two resident cards per bedroom.
- Pets and bulky luggage are not allowed on Ecobus.
- Ecopark is in Hưng Yên province, not Hanoi, so trips into the city are by car or Ecobus.
- Parts of the township are still being planned and built: Hưng Yên has approved changes to the detailed plan for its western section.
