Nhật Chiêu: flower gardens, a banquet hall and the north shore

The north shore road

Nhật Chiêu is a north-shore road in what was Nhật Tân, about 1.3 kilometres, and it is one of the prettier addresses on the lake. It is also busier than it looks in photographs, for two specific reasons.

Thung lũng hoa Hồ Tây, and what hundreds of visitors a day means

Thung lũng hoa Hồ Tây, the West Lake Flower Valley, is at the Nhật Chiêu junction. It covers around 7,000 square metres, was converted from a lotus pond into seasonal flower gardens with food and camping, opens 7am to 10pm Tuesday to Sunday, and draws hundreds of visitors a day. Hồ Tây Water Park is about 600 metres away.

Sen Tây Hồ and the wedding traffic

Sen Tây Hồ and the Star Palace events venue are about forty metres from the road. That is a large restaurant and wedding banquet operation. Weddings in Hanoi are loud, they run long, and they arrive by coach.

Who it suits

Otherwise the street is genuinely pleasant and low key: Cà Phê Đào Đình, Cà Phê Sóc, Buddha Tarot, Eland, Yatai Ramen, M’ Tacos, two vegan restaurants and a bike shop.

Rent here for the lake and the flowers. Ask which side of the flower valley the listing sits on before a weekend viewing tells you nothing.

Upgrades around West Lake, 2026 to 2030

Hanoi has approved an upgrade programme for the Tây Hồ ward, which covers the West Lake area. Fifty projects are listed for 2026 to 2030, across more than 96 hectares, and 46 of them are publicly funded. They range from roads and schools to parks and improvements to the lake environment. The largest single project is the new Tứ Liên Bridge. Several lakeside streets are named, including Đặng Thai Mai.

The 2026 to 2030 window applies to the programme as a whole. Timings for individual projects are not published, so no one can honestly say which month a given street will be finished, and we will not guess.
